About Vitricca

"Vitricca" is the linguistic creation of Andrew Iannazzi as he strives to define the multi-faceted pursuits of his artistic work. The latin words vitrum, for glass, and fabrica for workshop, art, trade, industry, or craft. This combination deftly describes the arsenal of artistic endeavors he aims to pursue.

Vitricca glass strives to create emotional connections to a shared cultural past. Sometimes whimsical, sometimes profound, our collections reflect memories that provide delightful reminders of what it means to be modern. 

Andrew Iannazzi is a tradesman with a deep connection to the rich history of traditional Italian and European glass making and its relation to American design. His work is hands-on and hand crafted resulting in objects that reflect references of the past while being inspired by direct experiences in his own life. He is an east coast glass worker, with a multi trade background which has helped him translate those artisan experiences into glassware with a unique point of view.

About the Founder

Glass artist Andrew Iannazzi began glassblowing when he attended Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York. After working in numerous professional glassblowing facilities throughout the United States, Iannazzi decided to settle down in Massachusetts and open his own studio.

Whether it's his glass tiki mugs, bouquet vases, glass bowls, or any of his other pieces of art, Iannazzi draws his inspiration from historical Italian and Scandinavian design, as well as American popular imagery.

Iannazzi uses his objects to explore functionality, form, and iconic representations. Iannazzi uses off-hand blowing and traditional mold-blowing techniques.
